Storm Sign Pair of RB with NFL Experience

by Logan Hernandez

The Southwest Kansas Storm, and our exclusive player signee sponsor Dodge City Dental Care would like to announce the signing of a pivotal piece of our roster, Jeremy Cox.  Jeremy is a special running back with an elite resume.  He is a product of Hope Mills, North Carolina where he was a 3-star rated recruit out of high school by Rivals and 24/7 Sports.  He rushed for 1,386 yards and 20 TD’s his senior year which earned him a scholarship to Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.  He had an extremely productive career for the Monarchs rushing for 2,175 yards and 23 TD’s, while averaging 4.9 yards per carry through 39 games.  He also had 75 receptions for another 532 yards and added another 245 yards in kick returns.  After college Jeremy was signed by the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent and remained part of the team through the entire preseason before being released during the final cut.  He was then signed to a futures contract with the NFL’s Denver Broncos where he spent the 2020-2021 season rotating between the active roster and the practice squad.  In 2023 he spent time with both the Arlington Renegades and the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL.  When we asked Coach Thomas about how Jeremy fits into the Arena Football League style of play, he had this to say.  “Jeremy is incredibly important to the balance of what I want our offense to be.  He allows us to quite literally do whatever we want to do on that side of the football.  He is a specimen at 6’0 230lbs, has a good burst, and his lateral movement is elite for his size.  He doesn’t just allow us to play outside the confines of the traditional Arena Football League offense, he shatters the mold of what that definition used to be.  With the weapons we have already surrounded him with, we should be very challenging to defend.”  Please help the Storm franchise and Dodge City Dental Care give a big Southwest Kansas welcome to Jeremy Cox.
