Storm Sign Former B10 Defensive Lineman

Dodge City Dental Care, the exclusive player signee sponsor of the Southwest Kansas Storm, would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our latest signee, Ja’Merez Bowen.  Ja’Merez is a versatile big man who will bring immense value to our Storm roster.   He is a native of Cleveland, Ohio where he had a stellar high school football career and earned multiple NCAA division 1 scholarship offers.  He played offensive and defensive line in high school and was the #51 rated offensive tackle recruit in the country by Rivals.  He ultimately chose to stay close to home and attend the University of Cincinnati where he redshirted his freshman year.  After a year at Cincinnati, he chose to transfer and found a new home at the University of Indiana in the Big 10 Conference where he moved to defensive tackle and played in 22 games throughout his career.  When asked what intrigued him about Ja’Merez, Coach Thomas had this to say, “Ja’Merez is a big, physical, and violent presence.   In a league that requires players to have multiple skills sets and demands them to contribute on both sides of the football, guys like him are a super valuable.  He has length, size, athleticism, intelligence, versatility, and drive…It’s hard to find guys that have half those traits, let alone all of them.   In the recruiting process, Ja’Merez proved to me that he has a great head on his shoulders, is professional and career driven, and makes decisions for the betterment of the people involved in his life.  I choose to surround myself with people like him, and he will be a great addition to our locker room.”  The Southwest Kansas Storm and Dodge City Dental Care would like to welcome our team member, Ja’Merez Bowen.
