Storm Continue Adding High Quality Players

by Logan Hernandez

The Southwest Kansas Storm and Dodge City Dental Care, our exclusive player signee sponsor, are excited to introduce you to our newest signee Marquise Lawson-Greenwood.  Marquise is a crazy athletic 6’6 260lbs pass rusher.  He is a native of Entrepreneur, Pennsylvania and attended high school at Imhotep Charter.  After high school he spent 2 years at California University of Pennsylvania in the PSAC Conference before transferring and competing for a year at San Bernardino Valley College in California.  He had a very productive season for the Wolverines recording 43 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss.  He spent the final 2 years of his college career at Lincoln University in Oakland, California terrorizing opposing quarterbacks.  Since the end of his senior campaign, Marquise spent 2 months down in Florida preparing with a well-respected NFL training company.  We asked Coach Thomas about what he anticipates Marquise’s impact being, and he had this to say.  “Marquise is a unicorn!  He’s extremely long, and super twitchy.  He’s a bit raw, which is why this opportunity is so important for him, but if a few things click for him, he’s a guy that could be playing football for a while.  I can’t wait to get him with Coach Gibson and start to cultivate some of his pass rush skills and turn him loose.  I know it is very difficult to get to the QB in this league, but you still have to try, and why not try to do it with an incredible athlete that is long, has elite quick twitch capability, and plays with relentless pursuit.  In a league where the margin between winning and losing is so very tight, we need great athletes to make a few key plays to hopefully put us on the good side of the win/loss column.   I’ve said it before, but I’m incredibly proud of the roster that we have put together, and I can’t wait to get settled in and get started.  It’s going to be a fun ride.”  Fans, please help the Storm and Dodge City Dental Care welcome Marquise Lawson-Greenwood to Southwest Kansas!
