Storm Add DB to Roster

by Logan Hernandez

The Southwest Kansas Storm and Dodge City Dental Care, our exclusive player signee sponsor, are excited to introduce you to our newest signee Keon Clary.  Keon is an extremely long defensive back, that will potentially compete for a job on the offensive side of the ball as well.   He is a product of West Columbia, South Carolina where he attended White Knoll High School and was a high school teammate of fellow Storm member Tyquilo Moore.  After high school Keon attended junior college powerhouse Hutchinson Community College in the ultra-competitive Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.  His JUCO career was disrupted by COVID, but he landed on his feet at Texas A&M Kingsville University in the Lone Star Conference.  He played 3 seasons for the Javelinas and finished his career with 43 total tackles, 5 passes defended, 2 interceptions, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 blocked kick.  He was also voted to the all-conference team his senior year.  We had a chance to catch up to Coach Thomas and get his thoughts on the signing of Keon, and he had this to say.  “Keon has the ability to be truly special, and a real force in this league and beyond.  His length is a gift from God, and his skill set is next level.  He has played wide receiver at the college level and finished his career in the secondary.  He is far from a finished product and is just scratching the surface of his potential as a cover corner.  If we can refine his skills, give him this amazing platform to showcase his natural ability to the world, I truly believe his best football is still ahead of him.  Keon Clary is a name that many people will know by the end of our football season.”  Fans, please help the Storm and Dodge City Dental Care welcome Keon Clary to Southwest Kansas!
