Storm Sign QB with Kansas Ties

by Logan Hernandez

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Southwest Kansas Storm, and our exclusive player signee sponsor Dodge City Dental Care would like to announce the signing of a dynamic playmaker and superstar, Stephon Brown.  Stephon is a big framed athletic quarterback from the state of North Carolina.  He threw for nearly 10,000 yards and over 100 TD’s in his high school career which earned him a scholarship to Appalachian State University.  After a year at App St, he decided to transfer to Independence Community College in the powerful Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference where he led the team to conference championship.  Stephon then received a scholarship to play football at Texas Christian University in the Big 12 Conference.  After the COVID year, he finally landed at his final destination, the University of Central Oklahoma, where he had a phenomenal career.  In his 3 seasons as QB1 for UCO he threw for over 3,200 yards, had another 1,100 yards rushing, and accounted for 37 TD’s.  Coach Thomas had this to say about Stephon’s expected contribution to the offense.  “Stephon has every tool you could ever want at the QB position.  He’s tall, well built, has a big arm, is crazy athletic, and is ultra-competitive.  His skill set will allow us to play within the confines of the traditional Arena League offensive model and break the trends of the norm and get innovative and put pressure on defenses in every possible way.  He will fit right in with the make-up of our roster.  We’ve been able to assemble a group of young, talented, ambitious, and high character guys who also happen to be high quality football players.  I had a vision of what this thing could possibly look like, but in all honesty, I wasn’t sure I could pull it off…We’re very close to signing the last pieces to the puzzle and I couldn’t be happier about the team that we’re going to put on the field in that Arena.”  Please help the Storm franchise and Dodge City Dental Care give a big welcome Southwest Kansas welcome to Stephon Brown.
