Storm Sign Dodge City Native-Evan Darville

by Logan Hernandez

The Southwest Kansas Storm, and our exclusive player signee sponsor Dodge City Dental Care

would like to announce the signing of yet another highly decorated Southwest Kansas and Dodge

City native, Evan Darville. Evan is a 2018 graduate of Dodge City High School where he was a

5-time all-league performer, 3 times in football and twice in wrestling. During his senior year he

was a 1 st team all-state selection in football, finished 3 rd in the state at the 6A state wrestling

tournament, was selected to participate in the annual Kansas Shrine Bowl all-star football game,

and competed in track and field. Evan was blessed to receive a NCAA Division 1 football

scholarship to play at Southeast Missouri State University where he redshirted his freshman year.

After his freshman year he decided to come back to Dodge City and attended DC3, but never got

to compete due to COVID cancellations. He finished his career at Fort Hays State University in

the tough MIAA Conference where he competed in 25 games over three seasons and racked up

50 total tackles from his defensive tackle position. We asked Coach Thomas about his thoughts

on Evan, and he had this to say. “To be good in this sport you need talented and skilled athletes,

and mentally and physically tough people…Evan is a tough dude! I never got the chance to

know him well through the recruiting process because I got out of college coaching as he was

graduating high school, but I got to watch him as a fan. He will be a really good addition to what

we are building here. He’s a solid person with family ties to the community that will cause some

problems for people up front. His ability to penetrate with violence and play with great leverage

as a disruptor will bring tremendous value to our football team. We are so very fortunate to be

able to have a player like him come back home and join our roster” The Storm franchise and

Dodge City Dental Care would like to welcome home a Dodge City legend, Evan Darville.
